The Belloni Filippi family has lived in the Villa for six generations and almost 200 years. Now we are lucky enough to be able to share it with you. Together with our team we look after the farm, the preparation of your food, the cooking classes, the apartments and most importantly you, the guests! Yes, it's a lot of work but for us it's a pleasure. We love to live here and we love to share this little piece of paradise with travellers from all over the world!
Charming sisters, Costanza and Serena Belloni Filippi, run the day to day operations of the Villa with energy and dynamism, as well as teaching their famous cooking classes.
Serena has excellent English, and with a personal passion for travel she is determined you will get the best out of your holiday in Tuscany. She studied performing arts and will be more than happy to help you navigate Florence’s rich cultural and theatre scene. She also trained in Naturopathy, giving her a passion for herbal medicine, vegetarian food, the power of plants and an excellent network of alternative therapists who are happy to visit the villa. Never happier than when exploring the countryside she can show you many of the beautiful walks in the nearby hills.
Costanza is passionate about maintaining Tuscany’s reputation for warm hospitality and excellent food. Proud mum of half-Viking toddler Leonard she speaks fluent English and a smattering of Norwegian. Having her own child, she has first hand experience of many activities for children and is happy to advise! Having a degree from Florence’s world famous Agriculture University, she has a deep knowledge of the region’s food and farming as well as a contact book filled with some of the best suppliers in Italy. But be careful, perhaps the one thing she loves more than food itself is the pleasure of feeding people!
Cristiano and Mara Belloni Filippi are Serena and Costanza’s parents. They have been married for 45 years.
The Villa is Cristiano’s ancestral home, he has devoted much of his life to the preservation of the family’s collections and the study of its history. He is a font of knowledge on Tuscan culture and obscure, regional recipes. In fact he is an extraordinary chef! Having retired, he is now in charge of the estate, masterminding the annual wine and extra virgin olive oil production.
Having completed a successful career in banking Mara is now the heartbeat of the villa, she is everywhere… from coordinating the sumptuous breakfasts and making sure the property is always presented perfectly. Even more importantly she is the glue that binds the family together and keeps the Villa the beautiful and serene place it is. When she has a moment to relax you will find her watering plants together with her beloved Leonard and dreaming about her passion, the sea.
Luna is our Weimaraner puppy. Full of energy and enthusiasm she spends most of her time sniffing her way round the garden, only occasionally taking a break to play with friendly guests.
And of course like all of the family…. she loves to eat!!!!
